It’s A Pride Picnic, Y’all.

On Sunday, June 29, we’re partnering with Pease Park for Pride Picnic—a day of abundant sunshine, community vibes and a delightfully queer celebration of the summer solstice.

The picnic will be open from 10 AM to 2 PM. FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. NO RSVP REQUIRED.

Bring your blanket, families, friends and lovers. Get ready to support more than 30+ LGBTQ-owned businesses at the pop-up. Pack a lunch or grab food and beer from some of our incredible vendors once you arrive. It’s up to you!

Family-friendly. Dog-friendly. Human-friendly.

All-Ages Friendship Bracelets with Future Front: Join the Future Front team to make your own friendship bracelet with Earth-friendly goods from Austin’s very own Creative Reuse.

All-Ages Improv with Thee Gay Agenda: Join Thee Gay Agenda for all-ages improv exercises under Pease Park’s canopies, inspired by summer camp, from 11 AM to 1 PM by the market.

All-Ages Tie-Dyeing with The Little Gay Shop: Stop by The Little Gay Shop tie-dyeing station to upcycle your own tee with a little summer tie-dye (you can also purchase a tee to transform).

All-Ages Drag N’ Draw in The Treehouse with Skechers Drawing Club: Summer camp meets caaaaamp. Join Skechers Drawing Club under the Pease Park treehouse for some all-day sketching of the park’s native flora and fauna. From 11 AM to 12 PM, you can also figure-draw some of our special guest drag fairies. Recycled drawing supplies to be provided for kids and adults alike.

Pride Picnic Plant Swap, hosted by Black Trans Leadership Austin: Got a seedling? Starter plants? Succulent babies? Bring a plant to get a plant at our second-annual Pride Picnic Plant Swap, hosted by BTLA in Pease Park. While you stop by the swap, you can also learn more about BTLA’s impact in Austin and their commitment to community gardening year-round.

HOW TO ATTEND

Pride Picnic is free and open to the public. For updates on the lineup and other event information, please RSVP.

When you RSVP, you have the option to donate to our work. Every pledge made with your ticket will directly benefit the administration of our Creative Future of Texas Fund, a micro-grants program for emerging creatives and small business owners in Texas.

PREPARE YOUR VISIT TO PRIDE PICNIC

Pease Park is located within the Kingsbury Commons at 1100 Kingsbury Street.

WHERE TO PARK: You can learn more about parking recommendations here.

WHAT TO DO: When you arrive, find your picnic spot, then browse around! You'll have plenty of vendors to meet, plus a chance to browse our curated food court. DJ sets, workshops and live art installations will be happening all day, too.

WHAT TO EAT/DRINK: Pride Picnic’s food court will be immaculate, but you can also bring your own picnic basket.

OUR COMMUNITY SAFETY GUIDELINES —

  • All FFTX staff, volunteers and guests will be required to practice mutual respect, as well as demonstrate an alignment with Future Front’s code of conduct and values.

  • All sessions are held online or in outdoor, open-air spaces. Capacity is limited to reduce crowding of any kind.

  • All guests are required to practice mutual respect and social distancing, as well as follow APH’s COVID-19 Guidelines, which currently include:

    • At all levels, people can wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by their personal level of risk.

    • People with potential COVID-19 symptoms and/or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask, regardless of a negative test.

    • People with a positive COVID-19 test and/or not fully vaccinated should not participate in an in-person Future Front event or visit a Future Front location until they test negative and/or they are fully vaccinated and no longer at risk.

Future Front is a 501c3 nonprofit, homegrown in Austin, Texas. We nurture spaces where women and LGBTQ+ creatives, founders and leaders can grow together.
