① READ OUR FAQ.
WHAT KINDS OF CLUBS ARE AVAILABLE? Club topics vary every year, but they typically stick to the following themes:
01. Creative Growth — Learning a new skill or way of doing things
02. Creative Practice — Deepening a creative practice, ritual, habit or interest
03. Creative Connection — Celebrating / supporting something everyone in the club loves
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR HOST? Clubs are hosted independently by Future Front members—not Future Front’s staff. So, sign up for a club and get to know its unique host, members and meeting schedule. Some things to know:
Signing up for a club is the best way to indicate your interest. Club dates and reminders will then be sent to you by your host! It’s OK if you don’t make everything or have to exit a club.
You do not have to be a Future Front member to sign up for a club, although some clubs may require a donation or participation fee. It’s up to the host. (Just remember—club hosts are donating their time, even if asking for a fee.)
Some clubs might meet once a month, while others meet every two weeks. Most meet at The Future Front House, but there are occasionally digital clubs, as well as guest locations.
Most clubs have 10 to 20 members, but some are much larger. Feel free to explore clubs that feel like a good fit for you—not every club is for every one, and that’s OK.
Clubs exist independently of Future Front; some grow into other things, while some may only exist for a season. Enjoy ‘em while they last!
All clubs are 18+ and designed for Austin, Texas residents. As with any public or private event, attend at your own discretion.

Sign-up instructions and club start dates are unique to each club. Please email questions regarding Community Clubs to hello@futurefronttexas.org, and we will connect you with that club’s host.
creative growth clubs
SEWING CLUB
Designed for beginner sewists, Sewing Club will guide participants in using a sewing pattern to create one of their first garments. Participants will get hands-on guidance in preparing their pattern, cutting their fabric, and sewing it all together. This club will nurture and grow participants' sewing skills, so that they can leave confident enough to sew other patterns at home and continue their journey to build a sustainable, me-made wardrobe. Sewing Club's first session will be an introductory session to sewing machines. Participants who know how to use a sewing machine can join us starting the second session.
BUILDING A DREAM PRACTICE CLUB
The Dreams we have at night have been a wellspring of creative inspiration and deep wisdom across time and cultures. This learning series will include practices for remembering and processing them, philosophical group discussion, and plenty of dream sharing together through a lens of relationship, curiosity, and decolonial ideals.
SKETCHERS DRAWING CLUB
Sketchers Drawing Club is dedicated to creating an open, welcoming space where creatives can build community while they practice drawing skills. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with other local creatives, learn alongside beginner and professional artists, and grow as a visual artist.
SONGWRITER SUMMER CLUB
In this class, we will explore different ways to approach songwriting and write our very own original songs with the help of visiting local artists, fun prompts, and song shares. This class is open to all levels, whether you've been writing music your whole life, or have yet to pen your first song.
CREATIVE LEADERS COLLECTIVE
Hosted by auburn rutledge (she/they), the creative leaders collective is a space to nurture underrepresented leaders and changemakers interested in growing their skills. We’ll co-create a human-centered and intersectional leadership practice rooted in authenticity, imagination, and collaboration, where you develop your unique voice, enhance your creative problem-solving abilities, and design the next steps of your own leadership journey.
PAPER SCULPTURE WORKSHOP CLUB
A 4-week workshop on mixed media and paper mache, exploring different practices and recipes to create a smooth and sturdy paper sculpture. Participants will create (at least) two sculptures- one large and one small, with plenty of opportunity to experiment and see results of different techniques.

IN SIGHT IN MIND CLUB
As a collective, community and creativity are our weapons; we exist to educate and foster kinship and empathy while recognizing the never-ending need for protest. With a Project-based structure, participants will learn the processes and history of printmaking to collaborate on a project that highlights collective liberation while listening, learning and discussing protest with a variety of invited guests.
CARDS IN BARS CLUB
This monthly club will promote it's members to find an outlet in the lost art of written correspondents. Come meet up with us once a month to create your custom cards, or dedicate time to writing your pen-pals. We encourage anyone and everyone to join us for two hours of focused carding.

NOIRISME FILM CLUB
Noirisme Film Club is a creative space dedicated to celebrating the artistry of film within Black and POC arthouse and independent cinema. Through artfully curated screening events, gallery-style exhibitions, collaborative workshops, and panel discussions, we explore storytelling, culture, and visual expression; centering narratives that extend beyond the stereotypes often portrayed in commercial cinema.
COMMUNITY TABLE SUPPER CLUB
Where stories simmer, spices mingle, and everyone has a seat. At Community Table, we'll gather to nourish more than just our appetites. This potluck club is a space for sharing food, culture, and connection—a place where diverse backgrounds, family recipes, and cooking wisdom come together to celebrate community in all its forms.
AWESOME ART’S ANALOG ADVENTURES
AA!’s Analog Adventures offers hands-on, creative artmaking experiences that are free of digital distractions. Centered around authentic visual arts practices, the club provides access to a variety of art materials where artist and facilitator Allison Lash shares techniques while encouraging participants to explore, develop, and nurture their creative voices in a supportive and inspiring environment.
HEALING THROUGH POETRY CLUB
Hosted by Isra (she/they) and Lucia (she/her), co-founders of The Faerie Gatherings, this monthly poetry book club is a soft space for exploring language, identity, and healing through shared reading and conversation. We’ll gather around a different poetry collection each month—no pressure, just presence—and celebrate the way words connect, ground, and open us.
MOONRISE MINDSET JOURNALING CLUB
Moonrise Mindset Journal Club is a monthly space for women and femme to slow down, reflect with intention, and cultivate compassionate self-trust through guided journaling, heart-led discussion, and imaginative affirmation crafting. Hosts meet with the Future Front team twice to check in on their club, share resources, learn from growth edges, have fun & hang! Hosts are responsible for:
Keeping the club safe by staying curious & asking for feedback
Having & starting conversations, as well as facilitating space for others to share
Understanding everything that is going on within the club, etc.!
⭑ Can’t imagine what makes for a good club? Or what joining one might look like? We got you! Let’s take a look at Hike Club.
Two years ago, Future Front member Stephanie decided to list her own bimonthly Hike Club as a Future Front Club. The club met every other Sunday at different trails in Austin, and the goal was simple. The club was designed for people who wanted to get outside—and just needed to find the time, space and company to do it. After listing the club with Future Front, Hike Club doubled in size and Stephanie still runs it today on her own!
