β‘  2026 BOARD SECRETARY

VOLUNTEER

LOCATION: AUSTIN, TEXAS

Role Description β€”

The Board Secretary is an officer and signatory who is responsible for taking, disseminating, and archiving the minutes of the board, bylaws, and other legal and corporate documents. At Future Front, the Secretary supports the following activities on the organization’s 501c3 Governing Board:

  • Advising on the organization’s communications strategy & strategic plan

  • Advises the Executive Director on website language, values, and mission statement that develops a consistent organizational voice

  • Commits to an individual fundraising goal of at least $1750

  • Promotes the organization’s purpose in the community and to the media

  • Serves as an ambassador of the organization and advocates its mission to internal and external stakeholders by communicating with the press, community members, and others, as needed.

  • Maintains effective board meetings as set by our board bylaws and any other IRS requirements or mission-driven culture requirements

  • Develops and executes yearly audits for the Board and Staff (i.e. SWOT Analysis)

  • Maintains board documents, as required by the IRS

  • Chairs the Curatorial Advisory Board

β‘‘ 2026 DEVELOPMENT ADVISORS

VOLUNTEER

LOCATION: AUSTIN, TEXAS

Role Description β€”

The Development Advisory Board focuses primarily on providing advice, expertise and strategy in regards to fundraising, philanthropy, and securing grants for Future Front Texas. Their efforts are instrumental in ensuring funding and sustainability for the organization, its operations, and programmatic initiatives. As a quarterly brain trust, advisors gather to provide feedback on best practices to maintain, update, and audit the organization's development plan against our strategic vision.

What do Development Advisors do?

  • Meet once each quarter with your fellow advisors to advise on the organization’s fundraising strategy and identify funding priorities and development strategies

  • Attends development-related meetings (by invitation) between the Executive Director, the Governing Board and funders, key stakeholders, and donors

  • Assists the Governing Board in managing and researching high-level partnerships, brand collaborations, grants, requests for proposals (RFPs), etc.

  • Aids the development and implementation of an annual fundraising event that supports the organization’s development plan

  • Trained to speak about Future Front Texas in a way that informs donors to donate funds and can attend fundraising events with the Executive Director or other Governing Board members

β‘’ CREATIVE WORKSPACE ASSISTANT, FALL SEMESTER 2026

PART-TIME

LOCATION: AUSTIN, TEXAS

START DATE: SEPTEMBER 2026

  • $15 per hour at 12 hours per week (time commitment ranges based on student candidate’s schedule)

  • Semesterly professional development opportunity, semesterly self-care stipend and complimentary Future Front one-year membership

Role Description β€”

The Creative Space Assistant collaborates directly with Future Front’s team to support communications and storytelling at the organization’s headquarters and East Austin community space. This role reports to the Executive Director and Program Events Coordinator.

This position’s day-to-day tasks and roles include supporting and studying communications around Future Front’s four core programs, like:

  • Assisting with facility tasks, inventory management and welcoming visitors at The Future Front House (75% of role)

  • Developing interviews and storytelling materials around Future Front as an organization, as well as its program participants

  • Supporting communications tasks around Future Front’s donor, member, visitor, program participant and volunteer coordination

  • Learning from Future Front team members and Future Front’s community onsite at two events per month

Role Qualifications β€”

This role requires at least 12 to 15 hours in office per week at Future Front Texas’ headquarters at 1900 E. 12th St. 78702 or partner venues in Central and East Austin. Only for students in UT's Work-Study program. No previous experience is required.
