11 AM — sound bath with sam
Take a seat in The Future Front House for a morning meditation and guided sound bath with East Austin yoga instructor and healing practitioner, Sam (@asanas.with.sam). Throughout the 30-minute sound bath, find a minute to breathe and remember rituals of deep listening.
1 PM — COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE & BREATHWORK — SESSION I*
Sitting within our latest art show, Portal, As You Are Acupuncture will support you through a 45-minute session of NADA ear acupuncture (or acupressure, if needles aren’t for you), as well as qigong-style breathwork.
About ear acpuncture: NADA ear acupuncture is an acudetox protocol developed to help the nervous system recovering from trauma or stress, or folks in recovery. NADA is also an excellent somatic complement to talk therapy, by helping participants internally process difficult emotions and by providing a feeling of safety in your body.
How to prepare: Eat a snack or meal beforehand. It's good to not have low blood sugar right before receiving acupuncture.
*This acupuncture session has been made possible, thanks to the YWCA Greater Austin, offering access to free and low-cost therapy options year-round!
