Owner, Maker, Designer, Social Media Manager, you name it, Sierra Lewis (she/her) wears the title. After relocating to Austin, TX, from her native East Coast home, Sierra was inspired by her career as a Special Education High School Teacher in North Central Austin to pick up her hobby of crochet.

After consistently crocheting in her free time and exploring her new home in Austin, the city sparked a revelation within her. People still believed in buying handcrafted, artisanal products. Products with a storyโ€”made by someone they could actually meet and talk to.

With her education in Fashion Marketing and drive for independence, she turned her crocheting hobby into a business in 2017โ€”first, with bags and accessoriesโ€”and then eventually evolving into fiber jewelry, home decor, and more.

Sierra now creates and curates full-time for her online shopping platform which features her wares and products from other Black Artists, Female Founders and small businesses whose point of views, aesthetics and values align with those of New Origin Shop.
