Self-Care / Plant-Care Workshop

  • #BBATX HQ 916 Springdale Road Bldg. 4 Unit 102 Austin, TX, 78702 United States (map)

In honor of our fourth anniversary, we’re holding our first-ever Self-Care / Plant-Care workshop, a collaborative event between #BBATX and Plant Party (a long-time partner of #BBATX and woman-owned small business). On May 18 from 1 PM to 3 PM at the #BBATX HQ, attendees will pot their own plant, while learning some of #BBATX's strategies around self-care and community-care.

— meet the host —

Established in 2010, Plant Party (formerly Slavonk & Hortus) is a terrarium studio and plant shop owned by plant enthusiast Keri Anderson. Plant Party offers a range of products and services, including locally delivered terrariums, succulent & houseplants, unique pottery, plant workshops hosted at the 12 ft fully-loaded Terrarium Bar.

The studio has hosted dozens of classes, providing customers with customizable diy designs for byob celebrations and occasions. In these Plant Parties, the main focus is to share the art of nature and encourage everyone to play in their creativity. People passing in the "Builds" will play in substrates and textures, experience different patterns and plant forms and be able to create his or her own personal landscape. Click here to learn more.

— behind #bossbabesatx —

We’re a Texas-based nonprofit that amplifies and connects women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and organizers. We create space to share our crafts, catalyze multi-industry coalitions, promote intersectionality across disciplines, seek guidance and provide each other with practical and emotional resources. Anyone interested in our mission, core values, and initiatives are invited to participate—and learn more about how intersectional gender equality can improve their daily lives. We provide 1500 opportunities to women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and community organizers per year. More than 15,000+ community members also annually attend our showcases, markets and dialogues—and in the last three years, our programs generated an additional $1million for the Austin economy. So, whether you apply to participate in one of our programs, attend our workshops, conferences and dialogues, or come out to a festival or market to support the community we’re building, you’re a member of this movement. All babes, all people, are welcome. :) Learn more at bossbabes.org.
