โ€” ABOUT THE SHOW โ€”

Pop is not yet here. Pop is an ideality. Put another way, we are not yet pop. We may never touch pop, but we can feel it as the warm illumination of a horizon imbued with potentiality. We have never been pop, yet pop exists for us as an ideality that can be distilled from the past and used to imagine a future. The future is popโ€™s domain. CAN YOU FEEL THE CHANGE?

About p1nkstar, Inc. and Y2K Technologies: Operating under the names p1nkstar Inc. and Y2K Technologies, p1nkstar and Y2K have have been producing performance art and music events since 2016. Starting at art galleries but now moving freely from warehouses, to concert venues, to museums, they work towards producing interdisciplinary events which always bring to the front the work of queer and trans artists of color. In the last three years, they have produced events in collaboration with the Visual Arts Center, The Museum of Human Achievement, Co-Lab Projects, Las Cruxes, 523 Thompson and ATM Gallery, showcasing the work of over 60 queer artists and with a total attendance of 5000+ people.

About #bossbabesATX: Weโ€™re a Texas-based nonprofit that amplifies and connects women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and organizers. We create space to share our crafts, catalyze multi-industry coalitions, promote intersectionality across disciplines, seek guidance and provide each other with practical and emotional resources. Anyone interested in our mission, core values, and initiatives are invited to participateโ€”and learn more about how intersectional gender equality can improve their daily lives. We provide 1500 opportunities to women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and community organizers per year. More than 15,000+ community members also annually attend our showcases, markets and dialoguesโ€”and in the last three years, our programs generated an additional $1million for the Austin economy. So, whether you apply to participate in one of our programs, attend our workshops, conferences and dialogues, or come out to a festival or market to support the community weโ€™re building, youโ€™re a member of this movement. All babes, all people, are welcome. :) Learn more at bossbabes.org.
