ABOUT THE SHOW

BRING IT FROM THE BACK will be on view THROUGH September 1, 2024.

Featuring a curated selection of portraits and scenes from ScamLikely’s archives, Bring It From The Back celebrates the profound impact of ballroom and queer nightlife on Central Texas arts and culture.

Documenting the transformational power of House of Lepore, as well as a number of voices shaping Austin, Bring It From The Back gives flowers to voices defining queer joy in the here and now.

This is a celebration of Brown and Black queer power. This is a love letter to the community who has welcomed me into their spaces and allowed me to grow alongside them—especially my family at House of Lepore and our house mother, Ms. Girl 6.
— MANUEL FRAYRE (SCAMLIKELY)
