Twerk, Shine and Wine: A #BBATX Fundraiser by Lily Shepard and Raina Gradford

  • BBATX HQ 916 Springdale Road Bldg. 4 Unit 102 Austin, Texas 78702 USA (map)

Fitness instructors Lily Shepard and Raina Gradford are teaming up with #bossbabesATX to bring you an evening of dance, yoga, wine and community—all while benefitting #BBATX’s programs.

On Jan. 11 from 7 to 10 PM at the BBATX Headquarters (916, Springdale Rd. Bldg. 4 Unit 102 Austin Texas 78702), we’ll gather for 45 minutes of Lily Shepard’s classic “Twerk N Burn,” 45 minutes of Soulshine Yoga with Raina Gradford, and of course, a little wine. :) After the classes are complete, we encourage you to hang out, socialize and network.

All proceeds from this event will benefit #BBATX’s research and community dialogues on arts empowerment, diversity and inclusion, creative entrepreneurship, personal and professional curiosity and collaboration. Learn more at bossbabes.org/programming.

— About the fundraiser’s hosts —

Lily Shepard of Body Bloom ATX
Born and raised in Rochester NY, Lily Shepard is a graduate of School of the Arts and holds a bachelors degree in dance from SUNY Brockport.  She is also an AFAA certified group fitness instructor. She spent 11 years in Las Vegas where she danced alongside Beyoncé at the Billboard Awards, and was a cast member of multiple productions on the Vegas Strip. She now resides in Austin, Texas and is the creator of Twerk N Burn™  a dance fitness class and the founder of Body Bloom ATX, a wellness lifestyle company. Twerk N Burn™ was created out of a need for authenticity in dance fitness. Lily wanted participants to get a hardcore workout but also do movements that feel familiar and fun. She wanted to create a safe space for women to express their confidence, sass and sensuality without being in a nightclub environment.

Raina Gradford with Soulshine Yoga
Raina has always been connected to the idea of liberation through movement. After taking her first yoga class in 2001, she found yoga to be a great complement to her background as a dancer. She fell in love with connecting the breath with movement, and the sense of calm she experienced after each class. She is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance. She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Practice Yoga Studio in the Spring of 2016. I completed my 300-hour teacher training program with Practice Yoga in September 2018. She teaches several classes in the Austin area, including various styles of yoga such as Hatha, Vinyasa,Flow and Yoga for Athletes with a focus on alignment.
