Gina Helfrich, PhD, is co-founder of recruitHER, a women-owned recruiting & consulting firm connecting diverse talent with opportunities in the tech industry. Gina is the former Director of the Harvard College Womenβs Center at Harvard University and earned her doctorate in philosophy and women's studies from Emory University. She has taught at the university level on diversity and inclusion, including an applied ethics seminar at Harvard, "Gender, Race, and Ethics in the 21st Century." Gina is also founder of Feminist Hack ATX, a community organization for people of all genders to work together towards a more women-friendly technology scene in Austin.
Michu Benaim Steiner is a Venezuela-born entrepreneur, strategist, creative director editor and with a passion for storytelling. Sheβs a founder and partner at In-House International, an Austin-based creative firm thatβs home to a ragtag team of irreverent makers who spend their days designing, building apps and websites, dreaming up content, slinging copy, and creating animations. Client organizations and brands include TED Conferences, Daimler-Chrysler, Rackspace, and the United Nations.
In previous lives, she founded Gopher Illustrated, a culture and design magazine with print and web platforms, and was Director of Corporate Communications for UnoLink, a digital signage agency in South America. More recently, she consulted for UNFPA, Nordstrom, and Stanford-affiliated accelerator StartX, and launched the beta of a civic data app called Citymatter. Michu has a B.A. in Comparative Literature and Philosophy from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MBA from The McCombs School of Business at UT-Austin, and will never get used to these bio things.
