The Front Festival 2026: The Official Recap
In 2026, The Front Festival took over iconic Austin venues—including The LINE Hotel Austin, The Contemporary Austin—Laguna Gloria and the Red River Cultural District—for four days of independent music and film.
One of Future Front’s longest-running flagship festivals since 2016, The Front Festival celebrates Austin’s creative community and annually spotlights 40+ Texas-based women and LGBTQ+ artists, musicians, DJs and filmmakers.
This year’s four-day lineup centered the spirit of Austin’s DIY creative scenes and the art of making indie music and film in Texas. Hosted across three locations with unique Austin histories—The LINE Hotel Austin, The Contemporary Austin-Laguna Gloria and new this year, Swan Dive (as part of a partnership with the city’s Red River Cultural District)—the local festival featured two independent music and film showcases, dynamic panels, as well as opening and closing pool parties.
From future-forward conversations with up-and-coming Texas rapper LYNN to one-night-only screenings of Iranian-Texan films like award-winning filmmaker Bita Ghasemi’s Firewall, 600 guests gathered for a weekend of creativity, community and conversation.

THE FRONT FESTIVAL 2026 HIGHLIGHTS:

★ No. 2 — 600+ Visitors Welcomed
Across Central Texas (and nationwide), friends and family traveled in for a sweet weekend in our Austin hometown. The festival was featured in radio, TV, print and online media through the Austin Chronicle, KUTX, Good Day Austin, CultureMap, Tribeza and more.
Big shouts to Tito’s Handmade Vodka, The LINE Hotel Austin, The Contemporary Austin — Laguna Gloria, the Red River Cultural District the City of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment, Topo Chico, Thirstday Tequila, as well as Future Front’s donors and members, for making it all possible.
★ No. 3 — $5000+ Fundraised
Every year, a portion of all ticket sales support Future Front’s programs, which have distributed $1M in creative commissions and honorariums in Texas since 2015. Thanks to donations at the door and our Cocktails For Good Bar by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, we fundraised $5000+.
★ No. 4 — $21,000+ In Commissions & Contracts
The festival’s programming generated more than $21,000+ in commissions and contracts for participating artists and creative production teams.
★ No. 5 — 100% Community-Led
It took six team members, 48 volunteers and curators, 75+ collaborators and one year of planning to open The Front Festival 2026.
