Every year, thousands of visitors enjoy variety of outdoor workshops and the opportunity to support over 30 pop-up shops featuring local LGBTQ+ artists, makers, designers, and independent creatives.

Everyone can participate in all-ages crafts, like summer camp keychains and clay-making, enjoy a refreshing drink or delicious food from the variety of food trucks, and listen to DJ sets by local artists and collectives.

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Pease Park Conservancy was formed in 2008 and celebrates the diverse ecology and history that make Austin’s first public park valuable and unique. In partnership with the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, the Conservancy works to restore, enhance, and maintain this 84-acre public green space for the sustainable use and enjoyment of all. Unfolding across 84 acres, owned by the City of Austin, Pease Park is a series of connected green spaces running along Lamar Boulevard from West 15th to West 31st Streets, providing residents and visitors alike with an intimate, yet sprawling, natural amenity. Kingsbury Commons within Pease District Park is maintained, operated, and programmed by Pease Park Conservancy.

Pride Picnic is an official Future Front Public Space Partnership.

Alongside partners, Future Front pioneers unique, community-based models for cultural programming and place-making initiatives in all kinds of spaces—from museums to city streets to public parks—around three core pillars: Creative Community-Building, Creative Wellness and Creative Belonging.

Over the last decade, we have collaborated directly with like-minded companies and organizations to bring expanded versions of our programs and community design frameworks to the public. We regularly co-found, design, curate and manage a range of public place-making programs with partner organizations, like Pride Picnic.
