#bbatx and the City of Austin's Cultural Arts Division invite you to join a community conversation with practicing artist Lenka Clayton and artist, editor and advocate for artists Sharon Louden on her book series “Living and Sustaining A Creative Life" on January 20, 2018 from 10 AM to noon at The Refinery.
In today’s digital landscape, the arts and culture industries are contributing more to our economy than ever before—and living and sustaining a creative life seems all the more possible. In practice, though, making art and making money often sit at odds. So, can we do both? And, if so, how? At the Jan 20 event, Louden and Clayton will share pragmatic models in which they and other artists sustain their lives. Complimentary coffee beverages will be provided by #bbatx's friends at Picnik Austin.
WHEN: Jan 20 from 10 AM to noon.
WHERE: The Refinery, located at 612 Brazos Street, Austin.
This event is free and open to the public; subject to RSVP.

Through event series, showcases and personal/professional development programs, we amplify and connect women-identifying artists, creatives and entrepreneurs. Since we've been in operation, we've provided a platform of visibility, outreach and financial opportunity to 300+ Texas-based women artists, 400+ women-owned businesses and women activists. We were named "Best Bossy Babes" of 2015 by The Austin Chronicle, Tribeza's Top 10 to Watch in 2016 and we were selected by The White House to attend the United State of Women Summit in June 2016.
